How we review a casino's daily prize, step by step

The five steps, in order

The same formula for every casino on the roster, dated at the top of the review.

1. Open the promotion logged out and read the full terms. Not the lobby banner, and not the summary provided under it. Where the full terms require a login, as LiveScore Vegas's do, the review says so and the score reflects it.
2. Record the gate, the top prize, the wagering and the expiry. Who is eligible to claim the prize, the maximum it can pay, whether the winnings carry further wagering, how long the prize is valid, whether it can be claimed more than once, plus game locks and the promotion's stated end date.
3. Verify the licence on the Gambling Commission register. The account number, the licensee and the status, noted on the date shown in the review. Ten casinos on the roster means ten active register entries.
4. Read the cashier: methods, times, minimums and fees. A prize is worth what you can withdraw, so the published payout terms are part of every score. Where a casino fails to publish cashier data, the review notes that too.
5. Score for daily rewards and record what changed. Reviews are re-read when terms move, the date at the top moves with them, and a retired or changed prize is written up as such.

One score out of five, weighted for the daily prize

The review score follows the prize, then the cashier, then the licence and tools. The lobby and the welcome offer count least.

Licence and player tools, third An active Gambling Commission licence is the entry condition, so it earns no extra credit. What scores is how the casino publishes its deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and complaints route.

Lobby and welcome offer, least The size of the games library and the welcome bonus count for the least, because both are what every other site already ranks on and neither says anything about month six.

The score is a judgement, made the same way each time, and the review shows its working: the terms it rests on are quoted, and the date they were read is printed. It is not a promise about your experience at the casino, which depends on your account, your play and the terms on the day.

Topic scores on the lists

Each list ranks one thing, with its own score, so the same casino can sit first on one list and last on another.

Two casinos can also tie on a list and be ordered by the tie-break the list names. Where a casino publishes nothing on a list's topic, as Coral and Monopoly publish no cashier data, it is left off that list with a note saying why, rather than ranked on a guess.

What we read, and what we do not

• Operators' own pages. Promotion pages and the full terms beneath them, general terms and conditions, help centre articles, cashier pages. Quoted where a figure matters, with the page named.
• Regulators, the law and official bodies. The Gambling Commission's register, guidance and Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice; the Gambling Act 2005; HMRC manuals; the FCA handbook; the Advertising Standards Authority; IBAS and eCOGRA; the Competition and Markets Authority.
• Not other review sites. No figure on SpinRewardz is copied from another affiliate or comparison site.
• Not claims of testing we did not do. We do not say we deposited, played or withdrew unless we did and can show it. Pages describe the published terms and say so.
• Not terms from the wrong country. Help centres serve different documents by locale. Every review reads the UK versions, and where a casino's UK terms differ from those shown elsewhere, the UK document wins.

Getting on the roster, and coming off it

A casino needs three things to be reviewed: an active Gambling Commission licence on the public register, a daily or standing free prize for existing account holders with its terms published, and a UK cashier. Ten is the roster size on purpose; a new casino replaces one, it does not join an eleventh slot.

A casino is struck off the roster if its licence is surrendered or suspended, or if its daily prize is withdrawn with no replacement. A casino whose prize changes is re-scored rather than removed. MrQ retired its daily wheel and replaced it with a weekly Friday drop, so its review notes the change and it is now scored as a weekly offer. Affiliate status is irrelevant in either case; two casinos on the roster have no affiliate programme at all.

Dates, corrections and independence

Every page displays the date its sources were last consulted. Reviews are re-read when a promotion's end date is reached or an operator changes its terms, and readers are encouraged to report a stale figure through the contact page. A confirmed correction updates the page along with its date. Every guide links each quotation to the clause it came from.
